About Nicole
Performer~Choreographer~Educator
Nicole Corea is originally from Palmyra, NY. Following her early training with Sandy Stramonine and Lynne Kareken, she attended the Juilliard School, graduating with a BFA in 2000.
In the past 26 years of her professional career, she has performed on some of the world’s most renowned stages including the Metropolitan Opera House and Joyce Theater in New York City, The Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., Teatro Romano in Spoleto, Italy and the Stanislavsky Theater in Moscow.
She has been a company member of many reputable dance companies as a soloist and principal dancer including:

Nicole has had an extensive career as a freelance artist around the globe. Highlights include:
Sponsorship by the U.S. Embassy to represent the United States by performing at the first annual Ubumuntu Arts Festival in Kigali, Rwanda. (2015)
Original cast of “Isadora” choreographed by Russian contemporary choreographer, Vladimir Varnava, performing alongside the world famous ballerina, Natalia Osipova. (2018)
Creative residency with choreographer Xanthe Geeves, at the Sydney Opera House, creating an original work to be performed by the Australian Ballet. (2021)
Choreographic Achievements
Nicole is also an independent choreographer and has had four original works commissioned by Ballet Memphis and the Ballet Memphis Junior company.
Her work has also been presented in theaters across New York City as part of the Thang Dao Contemporary Dance Festival, Latin Choreographers Festival, the Manhattan Movement Arts Center and Greenspace Brooklyn. She has created work pre-professional tertiary institutions including The Victorian College of the Arts (Melbourne, Australia), the New England Dance Academy and the Morris County Vocational School as well as creating and coaching solos for NEAD’s Youth American Grand Prix participants.
2017- she collaborated with the non-profit organisation MindLeaps to create a work for the annual Ubumuntu Arts Festival at the Genocide Memorial Museum in Kigali, Rwanda.
2022- Two original works for the ChoreoLab series at Ballet Hispanico of NY. She also embarked on two new creations as a co-founder of the NIJAD Dance Artists, a New York City based choreographic collective that focuses on collaborating with interdisciplinary artists to explore new avenues of performance and community engagement.
2023- “Fractal” for the Victorian College of the Arts at the University of Melbourne.
Teaching Artist
As a teaching artist, Nicole has taught master classes for all affiliated companies and has traveled the U.S and abroad as a guest teacher for master classes, workshops, conventions and lectures.
Long standing engagements include:
2014-present- Teaching ambassador and contemporary curriculum creator for the MindLeaps program in Rwanda, teaching at risk youth and training local teachers in the MindLeaps Syllabus.
2015- present- Annual guest teaching artist for the Dance International Program of the Jikei Colleges in Japan, reaching thousands of students through master classes and workshops across six major cities.
Nicole has been a guest teacher at many reputable institutions across the USA including Steps on Broadway, Ballet Hispanico of NY, Boston Conservatory at Berklee, Move NYC, Broadway Dance Center, Peridance, Dance Masters of America, Peoria Ballet, Morris County Vocational School and the Destro Experience led by Destini Rogers.
Nicole has been living in Australia since 2020 and been working in cities and regional towns across the Eastern Coast. She has taught company classes for the Australasian Dance Collective, served as guest teacher and choreographer at the Queensland College of Dance, Mad Dance House, Queensland Ballet and Ballet Workshops Australia.
Most recently she has taken a continuing role as an Associate Lecturer for Victorian College of the Arts BFA program while guest teaching at Transit Dance and Lucy Guerin, Inc.
Rehearsal Directing and Assistant Choreographer
Since 2003, Nicole has also acted as repétitéur and assistant choreographer for dance companies, independent choreographers, films, musicals and music videos. She has staged the work of Elisa Monte and Lar Lubovitch coaching and teaching the dancers of the Alvin Ailey Dance Company, The Juilliard School, the Ailey/Fordham BFA program, Marymount Manhattan College, UC Irvine and the Booker T. Washington High School.
As a rehearsal director for the resident company at Steps on Broadway, the Steps Repertory Ensemble (2014-2016) she assisted choreographers such as Francesca Harper, Sidra Bell, Jae Man Joo and Bradley Shelver. She has worked as an assistant to Warren Adams (Motown, Broadway choreographer) on many projects including the creation of the 20th anniversary live show of the “Lion King” in Orlando, Florida, the original children’s musical “EnviroKids”and Chameleon’s original music video entitled “Stay Wait” starring principal dancers of the New York City Ballet.
Wellness Educator
Health and wellbeing is an integral part of Nicole’s approach to performance and education. Throughout her career, she has trained and studied the relationship between the mind and body in order to sustain a career filled with longevity and purpose. She implements this approach into her classes for dancers of all ages by providing pathways to body awareness as a way to encourage mindfulness through dance.
